Shares...

Hia!

Here's something I thought a few of you might be interested in. It's called a Share and it simply works like this. I get interested people together, I buy a whole heap of stuff and share it between you. It's a way that you end up with a variety of stuff for about the same cost as you would if you bought one. I've bundled these ones together to make it wasier for me as this is my first time at it and if it works we can do it again and you can tell me what you'd like and we can make Customer Bundles! Trust me, these are great. I joined in one on a demonstrator site and it's fab. You get a variety of ribbons in smaller amounts so you can do so much more and you have so much choice from the DSPs! That's why I'm offering them for you.

Now I already had this post to go and then Stampin Up were kind enough to throw in another offer so that makes this deal even sweeter! I have tried to make them the same price as in the catalogue, if the price seems slightly higher, please remember that postage and handling is included, so these are really good deals.

Change Mat

Hi there Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

Well, I have finally taken a picture, actually two of the change mat I whipped up the other morning.

I had some laminated fabric in my stash, this is what I was going to make with it all along, so now it's done! So I've used the Owl laminated fabric on one side and the other was an orange fat quarter, but a bit short, so I found a scrap and turned it into a strip, so now it looks a little more like some thought and talent actually went into it! :P Seriously it was so easy. I cut my fabric, made my orange side with the stripe and then pinned the wrong sides together of the orange and the owls. I curved my edges by tracing around a bowl. Sew around the edges and along the drawn curved edge line, leaving a hole at the bottom. Trim the curved edges and turn in the right way. On the non laminated side, press gently. Top-stitch and it's done! Easy as and not a lot of time either. Now I can easily wipe the mat down or toss it in the wash.

Oh Crumbs!

Hi there Stampers, Crafters and Blog followers,

Now that I've shown you a little of what other people have been making, it's another show and tell for me but also combine with another talented team. The team over at Oh Crumbs Cupcakes have put together another amazing candy buffet. These lolly things are all the rage right now and I must admit that some do look pretty spectacular, like the ones at Oh Crumbs Cupcakes! I love the choice of colours - pink and green are a favourite of mine and throw in some orange and it looks amazing. Check out the cake too!

So what do I have to do with this? I know, I know, you all know that my cake decorating leave a little, ok a lot to be desired. If you look very closely at this buffet you will see some flat pack pillow boxes (you wouldn't squeeze too many lollies in there, but the perfect size for little children, in my humble opinion!) and then there are some little punch art owls on the jelly beans. Just Pawmark leaving it's little mark everywhere!
It was a privilege to be asked to put these together for Oh Crumbs Cupcakes. So if you're looking for something special for you special occasion, be sure to consider a cake or buffet from Oh Crumbs Cupcakes. Oh, and don't forget to pop over to their Facebook page to check out their work and like their page too - just don't forget to let them know that Brooke from Pawmark sent you.

Blessed Mother Customer Card

Hi Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

It's great to hear so much positive feedback from the customer cards. I'm loving the feedback and I'm sure that my customers would love to hear what you've been saying too, so please don't be shy, leave a comment so they can see for themselves. TIA

This card was a Mother's Day card. The customer borrowed my favourite Mother stamp set... "I am Blessed to call you Mother", really, that says it all. But the colour combo that the customer has used here is one that has really started to become fashionable, I think she should start working for Stampin Up to assist with colour coaching... maybe I should keep her all to myself and steal her fabulous ideas. Love the background stamping, I use versa mark for that look (which is the clear ink you also use for heat embossing). Another way would create a darker background but using the same colour ink as your paper... try it, can't wait to see what you do!

Squares and layering, so simple but always so elegant. Love it and that's why I just had to share another talented customer with you all.

Another customer...

Hi there Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,
Here's another card a customer made. We had a great time together with this one. Yep, I even do one-on-ones at my place and you get to use all of my stuff! Now that is fun! As you might be able to guess this was for her friend who had twins and not just any sort of twins, the best - a boy and a girl! The stamp set used in this one is retired now, but like I said before you're more than welcome to invite yourself over and use whatever you can find in my crafting room. I can even show you some cool techniques that you might not have been able to do before and get you hooked, like I did this customer...

My customers cards

Hi there Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

It's exciting to see what other people get up in their spare time, don't you think? Some people lie back and read a good book (yep, I do that, oh that's right, I may read it 20 times in one sitting, it's that good! Our recommendation is Where's Spot? at the moment.), some people love to bake... (we do that too... but you'd be horrified with what's happening in my kitchen!) and some people sew (oh yes, I did some of that this morning since I got up so early!) and then there's those of us that LOVE to create cards just so we can give them away to someone special. There really is something unique and extra special about a handmade card, isn't there. It really shows the person receiving that there has been some time and more importantly, love put into what they get. Plus you get the pleasure of making it! Win-win for everyone really.

Some of my very talented customers have been emailing me some pictures of the cards that they have been making. It's so great to see other people enjoying something I do too. And it's great to share ideas, steal them too! So thanks for sending me your pictures.

Check out these ones. This beautiful customer celebrated her birthday earlier this month and what a lucky girl... her Mum bought her some Stampin Up stamps from me as her birthday pressie! What a very lucky girl!

Don't you just love the colours of the female one? Great choice, they look great together. How beautiful is that embossed background, I do believe it's the new Beautifully Baroque (130917) Embossing Folder for the Big Shot. Love it!

And a masculine card... that old saying "blue and green should not be seen without a colour in between" is old and not true. Blue and green look amazing together and the stars... Simply Stars (130889WM / 130892CM) are simply stunning, a real shame they don't have the coordinating star punch to save a little time, but they are now one my list! Maybe this sharing of cards is not too good for my wish list. Oh well. I'm loving it!

Keep leaving your mark,
Brooke

P.S. If you'd like to show me what you've been making, please email me. TIA

Nappy Wallet

Hi There Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

Here's something that has been on my, I'd really like to make list for a while and that plastic bag in my handbag was just not really doing it for me. So I jumped on Pinterest and had a little look, but could find really what I was after, but I did find a tutorial from While She Was Sleeping and thought, hey, she won my competition, let's give this tutorial a go... I will admit, I used her measurements, read through her fantastic instructions and then decided what I thought I wanted... and this is what I came up with.

For those of you that know me, you know that I love to upcycle. Upcycle is simply using something that is no longer required for the original purpose and use it for something else. So, bye bye hubby's jeans and hello nappy wallet! I've tried my best to use the various features from them. Unfortunately, the button is around the wrong way for my liking, but I'd already attacked the waist band with my scissors, so I worked with what I had.

And since I was using denim jeans, I just had to incorporate pockets... it's just something I have to do when upcycling jeans! I also thought that these might come in handy for storing other things, something like a bib (which doesn't get used as often as it used to!) and some of those plastic bags for dirty nappies. It also holds the small wipes container and a couple of nappies. I'll check later to see if the cloth nappy fits too, but it should.  And I've also shown you a close up of the pocket... it's actually a double pocket as I haven't sewn the waistband down either... just another pocket! You never know, it might be needed.

Denim can be a little more difficult to work with and you do need to be careful as it's pretty easy to break a needle, but there were no needle breaks in the making of this item, this time! And I do use a thicker thread too.

So that's what I got up to today. Think my hubby thought it was a bit too practical, he can use it too! It's not too girly! Now the next thing to make is a reusable nappy change mat, and I have the fabrics picked out for that already. That shouldn't take too long, it's just a rectangle, isn't it?

Til next time, keep leaving your mark,
Brooke

Simple 21st

Hi Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

Here's a card I made earlier in the week. I actually don't know the girl that received this card, so I found it really difficult to make. I have no idea about colours  and noone was able to assist me in the matter, so I was left to my creativenss... I've seen these beautiful coloours together a few times and really liked them. So Saffron, Whisper White and Basic Grey. Do you like them? You might see this colour combo a few more times, because I do like.

It's also a great card for those of you that don't have a lot of DSP as I just made my own here. I've embossed the So Saffron and Basic Grey with Daisy and Dots and simply stamped En Francais, Baroque Motifs (retired and a favourite of mine, so it will never really retire in my mind!) and Tiny Tags (also retired, but soooo cute!). It's pretty easy and I think effective too.

Of course I've used my Junior Alphabet numbers with Crystal Effects and I borrowed my SILs tag punch (she hasn't used it since her wedding, so I'm pretty sure she won't miss it!).

Magnetic Plate Update

Hi there Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

Here's an interesting piece of information. The Magnetic Plate for the Big Shot (number one on my personal wish list) has been temporarily made unavailable. Why? I hear you ask. They have sold about 13 weeks supply, well, what they thought was 13 weeks supply already! That's called demand! So, they are working with their suppliers to get more, but they may not be available til late August, early September. But that's ok, my birthday is in November, so there's plenty of time! :P

I've asked other demos about this product, and for those of us that are lucky enough to have a Big Shot and even luckier to have framelits, this product is highly recommended... but the true test will be when I get mine...

I'll keep you updated on its availability, til them, keep leaving your mark,
Brooke

We have a winner!

Hi Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

It is so exciting, my first Rafflecopter Giveaway and we have a winner. Congratulations Jenya! Jenya is the lucky winner of a $10 Pawmark voucher which she can use on Stampin Up products or for any of my handmade cards or other creations. Congratulations. Jenya is a young mother who works part-time and like me, has a passion for making things. She has her own little side business While She Was Sleeping. We have purchased some of Jenya's creations and love them to bits. A lot of people comment on her beautiful work and how gorgeous my daughter looks in them... but of course she does! :) They are quality fabrics and very well sewn. And what's more, they wash really well too. Our experience; no shrinking! So pop on over to her blog, if you're lucky you could enter her birthday giveaway too. Don't forget to tell her that Brooke from Pawmark sent you - it's what we Handmade Mums like to do!

Thanks to everyone else for entering. I didn't get everyone's Wish Lists (which I personally would love to read through) so if you wouldn't mind emailing it to me, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for that.

It was also a lot of fun using Rafflecopter. I do need a little bit more experience in using it so it works properly... like liking my Pinterest page (Rafflecopter was able to tell me that's why Jenya won! How cool is that!). But if you do have your own giveaway and want a fair and easy way of doing it that's FREE, this is a great way to do it. I'm sure that there will be more Giveaways in the near future. Let me know what you'd like to see as a Giveaway or any ideas for competitions you might have...

Thanks again everyone for your wonderful support, I really appreciate it.

Their a lot like the clear mount stamp cases but just a bit thicker (of course). They come in two sizes and they stack! Oh, it's so exciting!

Check out this little youtube clip... so many other uses for them... store ink refill in, lunches, jigsaw puzzles... accessories...

Punch Art... AGAIN!

Hi there Stampers, Crafters and blog followers,

Just another Punch Art for you. I found this on Pinterest and I loved the colours too, so I copied it with what I had. You'll see the new Simply Pressed Clay buttons. These are my first attempt, so they don't look as good as the ones in the catty, but I'm working on better ones. It's great stuff, you can colour it before you make them, which is what I've done here or you can colour it after, I'll give it a go soon. I've used a very similar product with my students at school. Great for kids as they then get to use textas to colour in with. They love playing with it too. Oh and you need to make sure that they have clean hands! The thing to remember with it is that a little does go a long way. So it may seem expensive, but really, it lasts ages and allows you to have a variety of colours for your creations. It needs to be kept in a sealed bag, as soon as it's left out it begins to go hard. That's when it's best to colour it too. I'm more than happy for you to have a play with mine before you buy it, just so you know what you're getting. Let me know and we can arrange a time to get together!

This was the card I gave to my sister for her birthday. I think she's getting into this card making and I may have even influenced her to develop a little Punch Art obsession... I'm am sorry about that, but it is fun!

Brooke

Baby Quilts...

Hi there Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

Here's a blog post that isn't about Punch Art! And isn't about Stampin Up products!

But it is about Baby sewing, so it's just as bad? I know, I know, I really need to find something a bit outside my comfort zone to create. I'll get there one day! But for the time being, I thought I'd share this quilt with you. After the sewing class I did late last year making the Christmas Raggy Quilt that I absolutly love, a friend had a baby and I was inspired, but wanted to include the name and needed it to be quick to make... so this is what I designed.

A simple design incorporating the raggyness as a border with a white centre that has free motion quilting... one day I will master that! It's funny when you go in to choose your fabrics, I had an idea, I was thinking blue and a variety of blue... but when I found these fabrics and Nikki from Honeysuckle Patchwork started helping me choose my fabrics, I totally feel in love with them.
Then there's the front, I'm of the opinion if you're hand making something you might as well personalise it and especially if the child is having a name where there won't be much stuff around with their name on it... yep, I'm one of those mother's too! But it's raggy too. That took ages too. Sometimes these ideas are so simple and easy in the head.
Here's my free-motion quilting. All I do is let the fabric do the talking. It has been known to cause a few arguments between Janome and me, but we get over it. Sometimes she just wants a little attention or a clean and off we go again.
But I love this one. The raggy border. Don't it just look amazing. I love it! So much so, that when a friend had a little girl, I made the same design with a pink border and guess what! I forgot to take a picture so I can't show you. But it was a really cool border just with pinks. I really liked that one too. It is lucky that I put their child's name on these otherwise I'd be keeping them for myself!

I have a little look through my photos to see if I can find some other baby blankets I've made. This may help me to finish hand-stitching the one I'm working on at the moment... I think this little girl might have her own child by the time I finally finish... it is coming, I promise.

Brooke

Travel Journal

Hi Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

Here's something I made for my mother-in-law as she packed her bags and headed off over to Europe. Funny thing is that it was kind of my daughter's idea. As we were "reading" our junk mail, she came across the Aldi catalogue, her second favourite, yep, the only one that trumps it is Spotlight! Anyway, in the Aldi catalogue they had journals with boats and my daughter pointed and said, Nanny. So that's where the idea came from. In my head, it was going to look a lot different to this. I wanted to use maps instead of brown paper, but left my run a little too late (as per usual) to get my hands on some. So I grabbed some stickers from a craft shop in town, a journal from the Reject Shop and raided my paper and sticker collection to come up with this one.

I'm not a journaler myself, but I thought that if I was, I'd have a stack of things that I would shove into my journal and then they would all fall out, so a pocket might come in handy, really easy scoring the sides and bottom and sticking with sticky strip. oh and the circle punch up the top.

Then something simple on the back. A stamp sticker and my mark, have to have it! :) And you may have even noticed I grabbed a greylead pencil and wrapped it in brown paper too. It was also stuck with the amazing sticky strip!

I just needed to prove to you that I do do other things in my study other than punch art cards! :P

Brooke

It's not every day you get to make one of these!

Hey Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

Here's an occasion that I couldn't help but share. A lady from our church, Mrs B turned 100 last month and what a privilege to make her a card, well two actually. One from the church and one from my family. So, know that I was making two, I was attempting two different styles.

The pink one on the right, Melon Mambo with Whisper White and Basic Black used a fair few retired products... I think the only things you can get now are the colours in cardstock and the pearls. But I do love the colour combo and you should expect that I'll be using it again.

The other card, well it was the first one I made... vintage was my aim. A bit of Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze (retired) and ink sponged everywhere. Oh and how georgus is that ribbon... and it's still available! Love it. And there have been a few people asking about how I get the numbers shiny, that's Crystal Effects. Works well don't you think? Well, this one was my favourite! Which one is yours?

Keep leaving your mark,
Brooke.

PS Don't forget to enter the Rafflecopter giveaway for your chance to win a $10 Pawmark voucher; available to use on Stampin Up products purchased through me or my handmade gifts and cards, it's up to you!

Hi there Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

As you all know, Stampin' Up! is celebrating a special Anniversary this year.

As part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations, they are bringing back some of our favourite stamp images from the last quarter century and releasing one set per month until April 2014. Even better, along with some great classic images, each "Best of" set will also include a never-before-seen image!

June:  Best Of Flowers

Here are the details about this Monthly Promotion
  • All Best of stamp sets will include 3-5 images, including a never-before seen image, and will be priced at $25.95.
  • While we are releasing just one Best of stamp set per month (with a new theme each month), all of the Best of sets will be available until April 2014, while stocks last
  • All Best of stamp sets are available in Clear-Mount only.
  • The stamp images may be sized differently from the original stamp sets.
You can purchase these stamps or anything else you want to buy from Stampin Up's online store or of course you can email me.

Single Stamps

A few months ago Stampin' Up! asked  their facebook friends what they thought of the idea of being able to buy single clear-mount stamps instead of a whole set. The response was extremely positive, so that's exactly what they have given us. From now until 31 August 2013 (or while supplies last) we have 5 Single-image Stamps for you to choose from!

Details
  • Single stamps can be ordered in the online store or you can email me.
  • These won't be sent in our typical cases or packaging; they'll be packaged in cello bags. If you'd like a case for your stamp, you can buy our Clear-Mount Stamp Cases that come in packs of four.
  • This offer is available for clear-mount stamps only.
  • The stamps won't come with a Clear-Mount Block, and you'll need to purchase a block separately if you don't already have one. The recommended block sizes can be found on the flyer.
  • There's no limit on how many stamps you can purchase.
  • These stamps are only available through 31 August 2013, so get them while you can!

New Catty Updates

Hi there Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

Please note that there have been some mistakes made in the New 2013/2014 Catalogue and there are some delays in some products.
  • Cardstock and Pad Kit (item 132281, page 139): The price for the Cardstock & Pad Kit is listed incorrectly as $47.95. The correct price is $93.95.
  • World Map Stamp (item 130342 for wood, 130345 for clear, page 23): The stamp includes two offensive words, 'Negroland' and 'Cafreria', which have since been removed. The artwork we used for the image was taken from a historical map in the Library of Congress and the words were not noticed until recently. We hope it is understood that our intent has never been to belittle or offend our demonstrators and customers. We sincerely apologize for any insult or affront resulting from this oversight. We have updated the World Map Stamp, and anticipate that the stamp will be ready to order sometime in August.
  • Label Pop 'n Cuts (item 130160, page 188): We have recently learned that the Label Pop 'n Cuts Die was incorrectly produced--the die cuts instead of scores across the score line. Our supplier repaired the defect and we are replacing our inventory. The new and improved die will be ready to order 12 July
  • Wood-Mount Cases (item 127551 for full, 127552 for half, page 197): The new full and half wood-mount cases (sold in packs of four) have been delayed. You will still get your new wood-mount stamps sets in these cases, but we will be unable to fulfil orders for the additional wood-mount cases when the catalogue goes live. Stay tuned for when they will be available to order
  • Stampin' Trimmer Rotary Addition (item 132986, page 176): We will announce when this item is available for order.
