Retiring List out tomorrow

Hey there Stampers,

This one is for you, an exciting day on the Stampin Up calendar. Well, exciting but also sad, a time when I know my favorite products are usually on the way out, but exciting as some are reduced and there are new ones are on the way! :-)

The list is posted on Stampin Up Australia's website from midnight. You'll need to carefully scroll through the lists, usually there's a stamp list and one for the accessories. You'll need you catty handy to check them out and I would suggest a mug of hot chocolate or in my case, a pot of herbal tea and a snack too... Almonds. You'll need peace and quiet too... So midnight is looking good!

Perhaps you could write a list, post it up here and we will compare! :-)

There are a few ways to order, you can order online or you can send it to me. I will place my order on Saturday evening if you would like your choice of FREE postage or a small FREE gift, your choice. (If you've placed an order this week, I'll take care of you!)

So, happy browsing. Please remember some of these products sell very quickly and once they are gone, they are gone!

Brooke

Engagement card

Hi Stampers,Crafters and Blog Followers,

I find it very exciting when friends (and other people that I don't know, friends of friends I suppose) ask me to make a card for them. It's a great feeling - other people like what I do and want to share it wit others! Now that's pretty exciting. The only problem is, when you don't know the person you're making the card for, how can it be really, really personal? My solution to that is choice of colours or perhaps a style that you think they might like. With that in mind, this one was pink. How did I do? I love the doily, but I just wasn't 100% happy with the colour. I may need to play a little more, I sponged it with the same colour paper, but as you can see it is a slightly different pink. The other thing that my photo doesn't capture is the use of Shimmer Paint. If you ever want to get a sparkly, classy look for your project, Shimmer Paint is the go. It's not very expensive for a versatile and amazing finish to your work.

It was heaps of fun to make and I hope the engaged couple liked it too.

Brooke

Library Bag

Hi there Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

Here's something that I had a lot of joy in making; a library bag for my daughter. Yep, she picked out the fabric herself from her favourite store - Spotlight! :) She loves it and will grab it and ask to go to the library, which I do find difficult to say no to, but she would have us there every day if she could! :-)

It was an easy bag to make, but she may need a new one when I allow her to borrow something other than board books as it is a little bag, but she wouldn't want anything bigger at the moment.

Because she chose a fabric with a design there is a join at the bottom, but that doesn't make any difference!

I do also need to point out that Hickory Dickory Dock the book was damaged before we borrowed it.

Pinterest

Hi Stampers, Crafters and Blog Followers,

There is this huge fascination with Pinterest at the moment. I was reluctant o start and when I did, I just didn't get it. I did not understand what all the hype was about. Turns out I just didn't know how to use it!

I think that this is a great resource for us crafters out there BUT it does at times seem to take away some of the creativity when you fall in love with other people's ideas. I've found it a great place to get inspiration but I have also found it a huge waste of time, but it's still fun checking out what other people create. I do believe there is a lot more to Pinterest that what I use it for, but I just like ideas of things I could make (and sometimes things I can ask my hubby to make for me!)

There are a lot of ideas that I have got off Pinterest but this is one that I really wanted to share with you...

If you look carefully you can see the flower has been decorated by my daughter. She has really started to want to help, which is very exciting for me, except when it comes to Dazzling Diamonds, but he really needed them, so we had glitter everywhere but the fun we had together was worth it all, but I'm not sure my hubby would agree.

I have also started my own board on Pinterest. There's not a lot there, just a few things, my computer is so slow at loading things up!
